Lorraine C. Ladish's video: At 60 I m grateful to represent at events

At 60 I know representation matters! Thank you @fpmovement for inviting me to the yoga flow with @notyouraveragemermaid_ at @mallatutc to celebrate the opening of the FPMovement store at the Mall at UTC in Sarasota, Florida. It was a lot of fun. (Español abajo) At 60, I do not take it for granted that I’m invited to spaces where I can represent what it can mean to be over 50 and, in my case, over 60. Although I’m a certified yoga instructor and fitness instructor, I love to flow under the guidance of another yoga teacher and be a part of something bigger than myself. I love to share space with yogis of all ages. On the mat, nothing matters but what YOU do. I often close my eyes when I’m in a group yoga flow so that I can focus on my own body, mind, and breath. It can be tempting to compare oneself with others and I’d rather not. Do you also feel representation matters? What group do you feel you represent when you enter a space? It could be age-wise, race-wise, gender-wise, language-wise, ability-wise and so much more. Fue realmente divertido. A los 60, no doy por hecho que me inviten a espacios donde puedo mostrar lo que puede significar superar los 50 y, en mi caso, los 60. Aunque soy instructora de yoga certificada e instructora de fitness, me encanta practicar bajo la dirección de otro profesor de yoga y formar parte de algo más grande que yo misma. Me encanta compartir el espacio con yoguis de todas las edades. En la esterilla, lo único que importa es lo que TÚ haces. A menudo cierro los ojos cuando participo en una sesión de yoga en grupo para poder concentrarme en mi propio cuerpo, mente y respiración. Puede ser tentador compararse con los demás, y prefiero evitarlo. ¿También crees que la representación es importante? ¿Qué grupo sientes que representas cuando entras en un espacio?
