Luke's HomeTube's video: Winter Camping In A Snow Storm - 4K - Lake Tahoe California

@Winter Camping In A Snow Storm - 4K - Lake Tahoe, California
Winter camping in a snow storm isn’t always the best idea. Although, it sure is beautiful! See our incredible tent camping experience in the 4K video here: https://youtu.be/OpHOhL9jWdI A winter snow storm was in the forecast. We parked our cars close to the highway in hopes to avoid being snowed-in. We walked back to Woods Lake Campground in Kirkwood, California near Carson Pass and by Lake Tahoe. We were ready for some snow. We hoped the storm wouldn’t be that bad. But we were prepared to tough out whatever nature threw our way. We made dinner that night and everything froze in minutes, our soup, our water, everything. The next morning we woke up to the sound of snow. I could see shadows of snow piled up all along the sides of my tent. I emerged from my tent to see the snow was almost more than the 12 inches expected. It was about 5 degrees Fahrenheit, we were tent camping and our cars were almost 2 miles away. We took in all of the amazing views of the complete white out from the snow storm we were in. We quickly made hot coffee and oatmeal to warm up. As we began to pack, the snow intensified. We were in an all out blizzard. Thankfully, the snow was fresh, so it was not too difficult to walk in or to shovel. We began the hike back to our cars with very heavy backpacks. It was a lot more difficult than we were expecting but we made it back. We found the highway was being plowed and traffic was moving. However, we had to dig out our cars along with the road path to the highway. After a few hours, we made it onto the highway. As we drove, I discovered my chains broke. It was not quite smooth sailing after that as traffic came to a halt. At least we made it home that night, which was our only goal. It was all the more for the adventure!
