Icehouse is an Australian rock band, formed as Flowers in 1977 in Sydney. Initially known in Australia for their pub rock style, they later achieved mainstream success playing new wave and synthpop music and attained Top 10 singles chart success in both Europe and the U.S. The mainstay of both Flowers and Icehouse has been Iva Davies (singer-songwriter, record producer, guitar, bass, keyboards, oboe) supplying additional musicians as required. The name Icehouse, which was adopted in 1981, comes from an old, cold flat Davies lived in and the strange building across the road populated by itinerant people. So it's quite a job to try and clean up an Icehouse video to make it look as good as possible. Some are in worse condition than others. There are different copies of 'Street Cafe' doing the rounds and I picked the best one available to work with. I've zapped away about 95% of the dirt/noise/crap that was butchering the video on this particular copy and it has left the video clear bringing out extra detail in the already fragile image. A few extra small tweaks have been done to lighting before scaling this to HD resolution. Audio was good quality LPCM and I've used what was on the original file.
