LynxSteam's video: LJL-Xsc

@LJL-Xsc
The LJL-SC has undergone a few modifications. In this video a 25 Ohm 3 watt rheostat has been added. The LJL-Xsc stands for "Xtra" part or experimental. The rheostat takes 12 volts at full brightness down to about 6.5 volts at the dimmest candlelight setting. The rheostat is a wire wound potentiometer and holds up better with the low voltage DC rather than trying to run it in the high frquency high voltage of the secondary. This is a very simple circuit designed to run 110 v or 220 volt LED bulbs from 12 vdc. It is a very efficient circuit that seems to provide more light for less energy. However, the lights are not as fully bright as they would be on grid power. Still the lumens per watt has clocked in at better than grid 110 lumens per watt. This is a super simple circuit you can make. Radio Shack has everything you need. magnet wire, 2N3055 transistor, ferrite choke, 25 Om 3 watt rheostat.
