A él también han asistido, además del equipo español MAPFRE al completo, el presidente de la compañía, Antonio Huertas; el de la Volvo Ocean Race, Richard Brisius; el alcalde de Newport, Harry Winthrop, y representando a la armada española, el capitán de navío Juan José García Fernández.
