MBOwnersClub's video: Mercedes-Benz SL - How To Remove The Airscarf Module R230

@Mercedes-Benz SL - How To Remove The Airscarf Module | R230
This video shows how to remove the Airscarf modules on Mercedes-Benz SL (R230) In contrast to the SLK, the Airscarf modules, the fan motors and the heating elements are installed in the head restraints on the SL. Warm air flows out of the head restraint at the touch of a button. Red light emitting diodes indicate the different heating stages. The heating stage can be changed by repeatedly pressing the button. The heating action of the Airscarf is only possible due to the special head restraints on the driver and passenger-side. Fan motors draw cold air in through the rear of the head restraints. The cold air is then directed through a heating element and is warmed up. The air then flows through an air duct and comes out of the head restraint through the air outlet at the front. The first stage of removing the Airscarf involves folding both seats forwards. Remove the outer edge guard and then the lower fabric trim and finally take off the entire rear cover of the seat. Then detach the black retaining clips on the head restraints. Next, disconnect the electrical connectors for the heating element and for the fan motors of the Airscarf. Pull the head restraint out of its sockets. You will hear a snapping noise when you do so. This indicates that the head restraint is now detached from the hinge. The next step requires a delicate touch. Remove the plastic retaining clips. Then, carefully pull the electric lines through the prefabricated guide tubes of the head restraint. Be careful not to damage the heating lines. The Airscarf control unit is located in the trunk behind the right-hand trim. The Airscarf control unit can be reordered. Order number: A 230 820 95 26. Also, the two Airscarf modules and the fan motors can be actuated directly via the lines. =========================================================== instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mbownersclub/ twitter: https://twitter.com/MB_Owners
