The Prison Band – Americano Vor acht Jahren gründeten vier junge Ungarn eine Rockabilly-Band, heute bespielen sie als „The Prison Band“ ganz Europa. Auf ihrer Tour spielen sie nicht nur Rockabilly-Klassiker, sondern interpretieren auch Songs von Ricky Martin bis zu AC/DCA neu. Ebenso kreieren Sie selbst geschriebene Songs. Oft teilen sie sich die Bühne mit bekannten Größen der Szene wie The Matchbox, The Jets, Johnny And The Roccos, The Lennerockers etc. 2013 waren sie Stargast in der ungarischen TV-Show ESC Eurovision Song Contest und performten Ihren Hit, Toto Cutugno‘s L’Italiano, im Rockabillystil. Ihre Mitglieder kommen von den fürchterlichsten Organisationen der Vergangenheit: CACTUS machte sich einen Namen bei den Cadillacs, während LUFI und SZAPPAN beide ihren „schlechten“ Ruf bei den V8s verdienten. TRUCKER ersetzte den Gitarristen UFO. Auf der Bühne sind sie stets in Gefängnisuniform zu sehen. Cactus organisiert seit 22 Jahren das größte ungarische Rockfestival (Lakeside Weekend) auf dem The Prison Band zu Gast ist. The Prison Band are a particularly dangerous bunch of rockabilly rebels; even their name was stolen from Elvis' Jailhouse Rock. The members all came from dreaded organizations of the past: CACTUS made a name for himself in Cadillac, TRUCKER replaced guitarist UFO, while LUFI and SZAPPAN both earned their "bad" reputation in V8. These guys are not afraid to commit their hideous crimes in public; they work loud and fast. They certainly like to make a stir, and can usually be seen in the orange prison jumpsuit worn by those locked up for murder. Borders cannot stop them, either: they have been seen tearing up the floor at rockabilly festivals in Germany and France, in Italian rock 'n' roll clubs and even at Europe's biggest Harley Davidson festival in Austria. In Hungary you can easily spot them American car and bike events as well as at any club where live music is played, be it in Budapest or the countryside, so watch out because you can never be safe...
