Ein ungewöhnliches Projekt in einer ungewöhnlichen Zeit: Michael Langemann hat während des Lockdowns für den MDR-Rundfunkchor das Werk „Inseln – Gesang von ferner Nähe“ geschrieben. Das Stück spiegelt die Krise nicht nur, sondern brachte auch zum ersten Mal nach der Stille wieder den gesamten Chor unter Philipp Ahmann musikalisch zusammen. Der Aufbau des Stückes machte die Produktion in separaten Sessions unter Einhaltung der Corona-Abstandsregeln möglich. Zusammengefügt lassen die Bausteine bei der virtuellen Uraufführung den Chor als Ganzes erklingen. The idea behind this project was to reflect on the corona crisis and its emotional impact on society. At the same time, Michael Langemann and conductor Philipp Ahmann wanted the entire choir to sing together – despite Corona measures that prevent choir's singers from performing together due to the current social distancing rules. The modular structure of “Inseln” overcomes this difficulty - each module was performed and recorded in separate sessions by small groups. The digital montage of these modules allows the audience to enjoy the unique sound of the MDR-Rundfunkchor as a whole.
