One of the most active and respected young singer-songwriters knocking around the Texas Hill Country, Jordan Minor has played just about every venue between Austin and San Antonio (and many points beyond), opened up for just about any Texas country heavyweight you could name, and been a valuable friend and collaborator to dozens of peers. His 2012 debut album The Cottonwood Tree hearkens back a generation to the outlaw storytelling of artists like Steve Earle and Robert Earl Keen, with plenty of vivid narratives and gritty twang to go around. Here he is with "Jonestown Pier," one of the standout songs from the record.
