UFC 284 is in the books - and I must say, the event itself was a slow burn through the prelims - but when it did get going, boy it got going. That main-event contest was just about as riveting an MMA-viewing experience as I have ever had. And before I even get into why that is the case - I gotta give props to those two fighters. We’re going to do a lot of talking about Alexander Volkanovski in this video - and with good reason, because the fight he fought - and the level and the consistency at which he managed to fight it, they’re the real talking points here. But I gotta say that Islam Makhachev is impressing me more and more with each passing appearance. This wasn’t one of those fights where Volkanovski’s performance managed to quote unquote expose his opponent? No everything Volk did in there was made special because of the calibre of opponent he was in there with.
