Hey all!! Thanks for watching my stretching routine!! I know it's so easy to forget to stretch after a workout, but it is SOO IMPORTANT! This video includes a big section on stretching for the Splits, but also stretches for the rest of the main muscle groups!! Enjoy!! Quick note: All of these are best to do after a workout since Static stretching is healthiest and most beneficial after a workout. To Start: - Start off with some shoulder rolls - Stretching side body by leaning over side Leg Stretches: -Flat back. This one really hits the hammies - Bent over to one side. Variations: 1. Point back foot 2. Flex front foot and bend back leg 3. Put all weight in front leg and lift back leg off ground. I do some kicks after that one - Full lunge: Full out lunge here, feel free to twist through core side to side as I do, or also place hands on knee and push torso back for a back stretch and hip flexor too. - Kneeling lunge: great for hip flexor flexibility - Mermaid: reach back and Grab for back leg, great quad stretch - Shift weight onto back leg and straighten front leg - Slide into Splits!!!!!! (Repeat on other leg) Middle Splits: - Sit in an straddle - Stretch Side body to either side, bending over with torso straight then bending over directly to each leg - Pancake out in the middle - Pull through - Wall stretches: Sit up to a wall with you butt on the wall and let your legs fall open, gravity will do the job. Hold for at least 5 Minutes. Other one: push yourself into the wall until you are in the splits, hold again. Ab/ Back Stretches: - Cat/Cows - Cat stretch - Seal Stretch Back/ Arm Stretches: - Beach balls: Stretches out through scapula and back. Imagine you are holding a beach ball and hunch over. - Shoulder stretch, reach arm across body - Tricep Stretch: Take arm behind head Glute Stretches - Figure four stretch: can be taken in any of the modification shown in the video -Forward fold Backbend: -Bridge on ground to prepare -Full bridge ( can be taken in any of the modifications shown Wrist stretches: -come in handy for the bridges
