MSK Chess's video: Chess lesson : Pawn Nail II

As you already know, a pawn nail can be a great force. But it also may be considered a weakness as it is cut off from other pawns and hence protected only by pieces. In the game Gary Kasparov effectively demonstrates how this circumstance can be exploited. The chess game reaches a well known theoretical position with both sides developing their pieces. However in doing so each of them also peruses certain strategic goals. White is interested in strengthening the d6 pawn, for example by advancing the e pawn to e5 while from black perspective its important to prevent white from doing just that. Whoever wins the strategic battle may end up winning the game!
