We stopped for a quick hike before dark on a random mountain somewhere in the California desert. Soon after we found ourselves looking at beautiful garnet crystals that had eroded from a nearby pegmatite and stacked up in the wash-way. Most likely the garnets are a almandine grossular hybrid and have nice contrast on the flat feldspar faces. Enjoy the video :)
