MagnumDB's video: REFUSED - BLOOD RED LIVE FIRST TIME EVER IN USA FULL INTRO

@REFUSED - BLOOD RED (LIVE, FIRST TIME EVER IN USA) [FULL INTRO]
[FULL INTRO] Refused opening for the Hives Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia, PA May 18, 2019 Dennis’ speech: We're Refused, and we're from Sweden. It's a real honor and a privilege to be here with you tonight. A couple announcements before the music continues. First of all, it's been 21 - yeah, 21 years - I'm doing math, it's not my strong suit. It's 21 years since we last toured with The Hives. Which is incredible, because we don't look a day over 30, so... And also I have another announcement, how many of you have seen Refused live before? Thank you, thank you. So, did you notice something a bit weird about when we came on stage? Exactly - there's only four of us. So we have a guitar player called Mattias and he's excellent. But, he didn't make it. No, his Visa got delayed! Yeah! So here's the thing, this is the first time since 1995 we played as a four-piece.  We have to get through the night but I think we're doing a good job so far. So, a couple of other items to talk about. So last time we were here, 3 years ago and I distinctly remember, and I mean it's like - you guys are awesome, you guys are great - but I distinctly remember saying at the end of each show, I was like, "Maybe you should not vote for Trump. It's clearly bad." [INAUDIBLE] What did you do?! I'm so disappointed! No, I know you guys are awesome. But you know like, it's one of those things where like, you know, everything that goes on... there's a war against women. There's a war against women going on. The patriarchal system has been waging war against women for thousands of years. And with the new wave of feminism, the new wave of like, awake-ness with people, they're fighting back - the old white men are fighting back because they're terrified of losing their privilege. We had our privilege for way too long, we fucking need to step down. Because it's not about, now listen. Because we need to face each other as equals. And it's not about like us having less, but giving everyone else the same opportunities that's been given to me. But just so, because of my skin, because of my white complexion. I want everybody to have that opportunity. There's a war being waged against women. There's a war being waged against poor people. There's war being waged against Americans right now - in America! There aren't Muslim terrorists blowing up your schools - it's right wing alt right fucking Nazis. It's up to - I mean the thing is, it's up to us to do something about it. When we can look and we can see and say "Oh that's fucked up." But if we want a better world we have fucking have to do it together. I mean we're from Sweden, we're from Sweden, so it's like you know we have a different kind of - we see things differently. But I see a world where, if I fall down I want you to pick me up. If you fall down, I'm going to be able to pick you up. You know, if you're weak, the strong people should help you not push you down even further. And so that's.. be patient with me, it's the first show of the tour I still need to sort of get the ramblings in order. I'm almost done rambling, I'm almost done. So, I'm almost done, almost done. So today, The Hives, they put out a new song, it's pretty great. And in our mind, we're like "We're also gonna have a new song out!" But, you know, we're a bit lazy. But I think we're going to play a brand new song because we have a record coming out. But I think since none of you have heard it, if we fuck up it doesn't really matter. So that's why we waited to release the song until afterwards. And I know alright, so I might have to explain this as well cause... you have red states and blue states and it's the opposite in Europe. The red people are people like us: socialists. We thought that we haven't released music in a while, so why not release a new song - it's going to be released soon - we'll play it for you for the first time on American soil. Do you think I talk too much? The first time on American soil, here's a song about like growing up, being a rebel, being that fucking weirdo in school - you know what I'm talking about. And as you get older and you see yourself in the mirror like "I'm still a fucking weirdo. I was going to be true to this until the day I had a heart attack on stage.” This is a song about politics, about the destruction of capitalism. Here's a song called Blood Red!
