The next question concerns the field of education: Last week, Maharishi gave a very profound exposition on total knowledge and how it can be taught to students. Maharishi said, "We can teach a child one word, "A," for six months or a year, and he will be the master of total knowledge." I would like to ask Maharishi to elaborate on that statement. How do you teach a child one word for six months? What will he do with that one word that will give him all knowledge of everything? 2. From a distance all the sounds of the market make up one sound, which is heard as "A". Come closer to the market, and many different sounds begin to come up. Like that, Vedic texts start with "A", one unified sound. You go deep into it, and you begin to see many sounds that compose it. 3. The Vedic theme of education is through two processes. One process is analysis. You have something, and you analyze it, expand it. And when you have expanded to infinity, then begin to synthesize it, come back to it. This is Vedic theme of exposing total knowledge to one's awareness. 4. "A" is a starting point of that total expression of whatever knowledge may be there. The sound comes from reverberation. And these reverberations are the prakritis of Atma. 5. "A" is the unity is of innumerable smritis, innumerable memories. Experiencing "A" means entering into the fabrics of "A" and gaining awareness of the constituents of "A." 6. Education, in Vedic word, is shiksha, which means "to unfold" whatever is hidden from view. 7. Through Transcendental Meditation reach that level where abstraction prevails, samadhi, or Yoga. From there, you come back to the diversity. You are training your brain physiology to function in a holistic manner for any thought, for any perception. 8. This is the Vedic university, which will have faculty of all the different fields of knowledge, but total knowledge will prevail in the channel of any specific knowledge. 9. If you have the unmanifest value of the whole tree, you can nurture that hollowness, and then create a tree. But get hold of that unmanifest, that hollowness of a tree. 10. Unified Field is unmanifest in the sense that it is not within any space-time boundary. 11. When the students are taught total knowledge, they will enjoy problem-free action, mistake-free life, suffering-free life. Everything depends on education. 12. Ideal society will get generated through our system of administration, which is the administration of cosmic intelligence.
