Maharishi has said that the meditation techniques he's teaching are as old as mankind. But they have been unavailable for centuries. Why would this knowledge,that has been lost for so long, is it coming out to the world now? What makes this particular time in history so special, compared to, say, one hundred years ago or five hundred years ago? Is it simply the acute need for national security and national invincibility at this time in history? 2. Maharishi: The history of the world goes back millions of years. In the field of infinity, when we talk of infinity going on, we talk a huge circle going on. 3. A circle going on means sometimes up, sometime down, sometime left, sometime right. It is inevitable that the wheel of time is sometime up, sometime down, sometime left, sometime right. This is the history of infinity. 4. It's a natural feature of the wholeness of life, where wholeness and emptiness are functioning jointly together. Then the wheel of time is sometime positive, sometime negative. That's how the sun comes up, and it sets, and it comes up, and it sets. 5. These up- and down-cycles are natural in the long history of the world. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is widely regarded as one of the foremost scientists in the field of consciousness.
