Maine Railfan's video: 4K Chasing CP Train 142 on the Moosehead East Sub 6 26 2021

@[4K] Chasing CP Train 142 on the Moosehead East Sub (6/26/2021)
On 6/26/2021 I headed to Jackman in hopes of catching 142. On this day, they got out of town early, but luckily I ran into fellow railfan at Harry Gordon at Tarratine. From there I picked up the fairly short train, and followed it until Greenville, ME before going back to MacKamp to see the carnage. For the past year, Herzog has had a MTM (Multi-Purpose Machine) working the Moosehead, removing scrap ties, scrap rail, along with the long oos ABS block system. The ABS block system had been oos since a ice storm in the 90's which took out the code lines which fed power to them. Rather than spending the money to fix the lines, Canadian American/Iron Road decide to deactivate them and turn the heads away from the mainline, since the current traffic levels didn't warrant a signal system. At this point, all the signals between Tarratine and Boundary (Canadian boarder) had been removed. The following week, CP got a second MTM which had been enroute to Pan Am, and started removing the signals and other equipment between Greenville and Brownville Junction. As of last month the only signals standing were the pair guarding the limits at Brownville Junction. And those to came down recently. Although some on Irving have been removed, there are still several sets standing.
