Chapter 9: Youre Beautiful The next day, the guys were hanging out at Nat's while he rushed around through the apartment, trying to find appropriate clothes for homecoming. Meanwhile, Rosalina and Jesse were rushing around Manhattan, looking for the perfect dress. "So, are you gonna kiss her?" Alex asked Nat as he was getting ready. "What?" Nat asked, his voice rising. "Are you going to suck Rosalinas face off?" Alex asked again, a little louder and slower. "Well, if the time is right. But, she just thinks were going as friends." Nat said. They heard a loud honk from the street below. Alex walked over to see what it was. "Oh man, you got a limo?!?" Alex yelled in excitement. "Yeah, what's the big deal?" Nat asked, grabbing the corsage of the dresser. "Well, I don't know. I just got excited." Alex said. "All right, I'm leaving. Make sure you and the guys don't burn down the place." Nat told his brother as he walked down the stairs. "We'll try." Alex said. "Now, go have fun." "Okay, see you later." Nat walked out the door and down to the limo. During the short ride to Rosalinas house, Nat couldnt help but be nervous. When he got out at her house, he took his time making his way to the door because he knew Rosalina wasnt ready. "Oh my god, Rosie, Nat's here, in a limo." Jessie told her as Rosalina touched up her makeup. "Why does he always have to go all out?" Rosalina asked herself aloud. "You know he wants to make it special." Jessie said. "You look great." "Thanks." Rosalina looked at herself in the mirror, admiring her short purple dress and curly hair, which was piled on top of her head. "I'll see you later." "Bye, have fun." Jessie yelled as Rosalina ran down the stairs. "So, what time will you guys be home again?" Rosalina's dad asked for the 3rd time. "Around 10:30." Nat answered. His head turned to the door where Rosalina was walking down the steps. He smiled as she walked towards them. "Hi." She said quietly. "You look beautiful." Nat told her. She finally smiled. "There's that smile. You ready?" "Before you leave, Rosalina, I need a picture." Her father told her. "Dad, come on." Rosalina whined. "Rosalina, your grandparents would like to see a picture." Her father said. "But Dad..." Rosalina started to complain again. "Can you give us a minute, Jack?" Nat politely asked. "Sure, go ahead." He said. Nat pulled Rosalina aside. "Just take the picture to make him happy okay." Nat told her. He pulled the corsage out from inside his jacket. "You didn't have to do that." Rosalina said as he took it out of the box. Her father noticed and walked closer to get some pictures. Nat slipped the flower onto Rosalina's wrist. She took his out of the box and pinned it onto his jacket. "Dad, you can have two more pictures." Rosalina told him. Rosalina wrapped her arms around Nats waist as Nat put his arm around her and put his other hand in his pocket. For the last picture, they stood side by side, with Nats arm around Rosalinas waist and hers around his torso. They climbed in the back of the limo and headed to the school. "So, did I tell you look beautiful?" Nat asked. "You mentioned it." Rosalina laughed.
