Chapter 12: Sorry? Yeah Right! The next day, Nat walked to the news stand before picking up Rosalina. He picked up last weeks issue of People magazine. The cover said, Rosalina dumping Nat for skateboarding teen heartthrob Matt Long? Nat shoved some money in the mans hand and ran down the street to Rosalinas house. He sat frustrated on her porch steps until she came out. "What the heck?" He yelled, shoving the magazine in her face. It was a picture of her kissing Matt Long on the cover. "Why did you agree to come to homecoming with me if you like this guy?" "That was a one time thing and that picture was taken like a year ago." Rosalina explained. "And why do you care, it's not like were dating or anything." "Well, I thought that Saturday meant something." Nat yelled, slamming the magazine on the sidewalk. He stopped walking but Rosalina kept going, walking even faster. Nat could tell by the way she was walking, she was pissed off. Nat moped all day and was really quiet during rehearsal, not exchanging even a glance with Rosalina. He and Alex walked home in silence. "Okay, what that heck is bugging you?" Alex asked. "You've been all mopey dopey and you and Rosalina haven't said a word to each other." "We're in a fight because I saw a tabloid picture from like a year ago of her kissing Matt Long." Nat said. "Matt Long?!? That guy's an incredible skater. He's meeting me at the park later." Alex shouted. Nat glared at him. "Sorry, continue with your story." "Well, I told her that I thought Saturday meant something and she got pissed and ran off." Nat said. "And now I don't know what to do about it." "Well, maybe she wasn't really looking for a relationship." Alex suggested as they reached their apartment. They opened the door and found a poster Rosalina obviously had delivered staring them in the face. It was of her and Nat before homecoming and it said Sorry written across the top in her handwriting. "Yeah right." Nat said, knocking the poster to the ground as he charged upstairs to his room, slamming the door behind him.
