ManWithNoExpression's video: The Hollies - Postcard - Guitar and Bass Cover

@The Hollies - Postcard - Guitar and Bass Cover
PLEASE NOTE: I plan to do a livestream Q&A / general music chat later today (5/24), probably around 7pm EST, so be sure to stop by and say hi! Graham Nash's song Postcard was recorded on 5 September 1967, and was released as the first track of Side two of Butterfly in November 1967. Graham's songs on Butterfly were certainly leaning towards a sort of escapism, which would be more fleshed out in the following year with Wings and Marrakesh Express, and this song is particular makes a nice use of the Mixolydian mode in the melody. I can't say for sure who's playing the 12 string and who's playing the 6 string on this song. The Vox Folk Twelve was used on almost every song on the Butterfly album though. Some other things I like about this song are Bernie's bass slides at the end of each verse, which add some cool rhythmic texture to the song, and also Bobby's drumming is very fitting on this song, being both urgent and concise. The use of a whip as a percussion instrument is also a nice touch on this track, something the Beatles would do later on She Came in Through the Bathroom Window from Abbey Road. This is a good song to learn if you're starting guitar, as there are only 4 chords. Here's the song request list: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SvfYU4gYdzPSDHx5Uum_aj5eQWAhJ0jvs-9p0iiugSY/edit?usp=sharing Feel free to comment your song requests, and ask any questions you have about chords or notes. Thanks for watching!
