@LINKOnline Webinar - Taking a Well Being Approach to Soil Health
Presented by Bryan Stevenson and Dean Stronge Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research Government, iwi/hapū, industry, and landowners hold a range of perspectives and interests on soil and soil health. Understanding the different ways we use and value soil is a critical for making sound land management and policy decisions. The MBIE Endeavour research programme Soil Health and Resilience: oneone ora tangata ora focusses on three areas: 1) the effects of land use intensification on the resilience of our soils and how different soils react to those pressures 2) developing Māori views on soil health and 3) creating a soil health framework that better integrates science with social and policy needs. In this webinar we will give a brief overview and update on the three topics. In particular we will focus on how a well-being approach to soil health, which includes a social and cultural dimension, can build a more diverse and integrated knowledge base to better inform policy and practice.
