Tired of Zoom calls and delivery food that gets cold? Do you need a fun night out filled with good food, live music, and reconnecting with your community, in authentic Italian style? Here's an idea..! Restaurants worldwide have been hit hard by lockdown restrictions, but some have gone above and beyond to reinvent themselves. Maico Campilongo — co-owner of one the most popular Italian restaurants in Silicon Valley, California — got creative and decided to turn a challenge into an opportunity to still delight and entertain his customers. He and his staff at Palo Alto based "Terún Pizza", turned an entire public parking garage into an Italian drive-in night! The "al fresco" event brought the community together (from the safety of our cars and pickup trucks) around good Italian take-out food and live music by Mike Annuzzi (@mikeannuzzi) and Maico himself (@maicocampilongo). The musical duo performed a repertoire ranging from American country songs, to evergreen Italian ballads (e.g. "L'isola che non c'è" by Edoardo Bennato), passing through classics that have also become popular in Italian-American culture (think "Tu vuo' fa l'americano").
