Today, March 25, is recognized as National Medal of Honor Day, paying tribute to all those who have received the nation’s highest military award for valor. Maj. Gen. James Livingston, U.S. Marine Corps retired, spoke to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers South Atlantic Division leadership at the division's Military Leadership Development program. Since the creation of the award in 1863, 298 Marines have received the Medal of Honor. Additionally, 18 Medals of Honor have been awarded to @usnavy Corpsmen, along with five Navy officers serving with Marine Corps units.
