Taken from his 20 year retrospective, “Prisoners of the Heart”, the title track of Mark’s 2001 Laughing Outlaw Records release, “The Ghost of Lost Creek Road” was inspired by time spent stuck with the young family in a traffic jam on the Pacific Highway after a hapless truckie had driven off the side of the road into a gully south of Bellingen. A sign on the opposite side of the road read ‘Lost Creek Road’... when stuck in traffic songwriting is a fine distraction.
