Here's a rare full game broadcast of legendary Detroit Tigers play-by-play men Ernie Harwell and George Kell, teamed together to bring fans the last game of the 1963 season. This was Kell's last game as a radio play-by-play announcer for the Tigers. George took a year off from the mic and then returned in 1965 for about 30 years as the lead guy from the Tigers' TV booth. Ernie went on from here to give Tigers' fans 30+ more years of folksy and professional radio play-by-play work that earned him a place in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. What these two fine gentlemen taught a couple of generations of Tigers fans not only about baseball but also about how to talk to people long will be appreciated.
