Martin's Peruvian Kitchen's video: Chocolate Avocado Mousse AD

@Chocolate Avocado Mousse | AD
Hi, I’m Martin Morales, I’m a chef and restaurateur. We run the stunning Casita Andina and Ceviche Soho, Andina and Ceviche Old St restaurants. These are pioneering Peruvian restaurants in London. http://cevicheuk.com/ http://andinalondon.com/ This wonderful chocolate avocado mousse recipe, sponsored by our friends over at Avocados From Peru, is a guilt free way of treating the ones you love to a gorgeous vegetarian dessert! You might not think of avocados when you think of chocolate mousse, but their creamy texture and light flavour make them ideal for this dish. They are nutrient-dense, so you are getting a dose of your daily vitamins and minerals while enjoying a tasty treat. As well as the Peruvian avocados this dish is packed with super-food ingredients, including Peruvian pomegranates and dark chocolate (dark chocolate really can be a super-food when eaten in moderation), this is the perfect recipe when you are craving a rich and creamy dessert without all of the naughty stuff. It's dairy free, so perfect if you're lactose intolerant (remember to check the chocolate) and can easily be made vegan by substituting the honey for maple syrup. Give it a go and let me know how you get on in the comments box below. Check out Avocados From Peru for everything you need to know about avocados, including more avocado based recipe inspiration: http://www.avocadosfromperu.com/ The Recipe (2 portions): 50gr / 0.10 pounds dark chocolate 1 Ripe Peruvian hass avocado 40gr / 0.08 pounds honey 20gr / 0.04 pounds cocoa powder 2tbs hazelnut milk few drops of vanilla essence pomegranate arils mint leaves to decorate Blend the avocado in a thermomix (or you can mash them down by hand or in a regular blender) until obtaining a purée. Sift the avocado puree to get an even smoother fine puree. Leave aside. Break the chocolate and place into a heatproof bowl. Sit over a pan of barely simmering water (a bain marie) and allow the chocolate to melt, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and add the honey, cocoa powder (sifted), vanilla and hazelnut milk. Finally, add the avocado puree into this mix. Serve the mix in your desired container and add some pomegranate arils on top. Decorate with mint leaves and enjoy!
