Tout comme les hommes, les chardonnerets ont des accents. Il s'agit là d'un chant typique de la région de Bgayet, appelé "vyou vyou". Dans les années 1970, le chardonneret pouvait imiter jusqu'à 12 chants. Aujourd'hui, il n'en connaît plus que 4 ou 5. C'est sans doute un indicateur de la disparition des oiseaux autour de lui et d'une diversité qui se réduit comme une peau de chagrin.
