Thank you for watching! 💫 And don’t forget to subscribe here: https://goo.gl/mQwVjN **************************************************************************** Recipe : Dal Palak Preparation Time: 15 minutes Cooking Time: 20 minutes Serves: 3-4 Ingredients: 1/2 cup toor or arhar dal 1/4 cup yellow moong dal 1/4 cup red masoor dal 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic 1” ginger, juliennes 250 gms spinach, finely chopped 2 onion, finely chopped 1 tsp cumin seeds 2-3 dry red chillies 1/2 tsp turmeric 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder 1 tsp kasoori methi Salt to taste 3 tbsp ghee 2 tbsp oil 3 cups water 1 clay bowl Method: Wash the dals. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in the pressure cooker. Add the washed, drained dals and sauté till well coated with oil and lightly colored. Add ½ tsp turmeric powder, salt to taste and 3 cups water and pressure cook for 4 whistles. Allow to cool down. Finely chop the spinach. Heat 1 tbsp ghee and the oil in a pan. fry a handful of the spinach till crisp and remove. To the same oil, add the cumin seeds and allow to splutter. Add the chopped onions and saute till golden. Add the green chilies, ginger and saute till fragrant. Add the red chili powder and mix. Add the chopped tomatoes and saute till the tomatoes are pulpy and mushy. Add the chopped spinach and saute till the spinach is well cooked. Add the cooked dal to the pan. mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes. Meanwhile heat the clay bowl over naked flame till the edges turn red. Add the remaining ghee to the hot bowl and allow to flambe. Add the burning ghee and clay bowl to the dal and cover immediately. Set aside for 3-4 minutes. Heat the remaining ghee ina pan. add the chopped garlic and the whole red chilies. Saute till the garlic is golden. Pour over the dal and serve.
