Recipe :
Instant Gulab Jamun
Preparation Time: 4 minutes
Cooking Time: 6 minutes
Serves: 3-4
Ingredients:
1 cup milk powder
¼ tsp baking powder
3 tbsp flour
2 tbsp semolina
½ cup + 1 tbsp milk
1 tbsp sugar
3-4 green cardamom
1 tsp rose water
1 tsp lemon juice
1 ½ cup sugar
1 ½ cup water
Method:
Bring together the sugar and water to a boil. Reduce the heat and allow to simmer for 3-4 minutes. Add the lemon juice and clarify the syrup.
Add the green cardamoms and rose water and remove from heat.
Heat 2” Oil in a pan.
Meanwhile heat the milk with the sugar. Add the ghee and bring to a boil. Add the semolina and remove from heat. Allow to sit aside for 2-3 minutes for the semolina to absorb the milk.
Mix together the milk powder, flour and baking powder.
Add the semolina mixture. Add 1 tbsp milk and mix together to form a smooth dough. Rest the dough for 2 minutes. Roll out small walnut sized balls of the dough.
Smoothen the balls to ensure there are no cracks. Fry in medium hot oil till dark golden in colour.
Remove from heat and add to lukewarm syrup. Allow to soak for some time in the syrup before serving.
