My Karwa Chauth Thali has both kachcha khana and pucca khana & that is what makes the Karwa Chauth Thali so special. My Karwa Chauth Thali will have for sure farre, kadhi, sevayin, 1 vegetable like matar paneer, pulao and puri. Thank you for watching! 💫 And don’t forget to subscribe here: https://goo.gl/mQwVjN **************************************************************************** Recipe : Farre Preparation Time: 30 minute Cooking Time: 20 minutes Ingredients: 2 cups Rice Flour 1 cup soaked urad dal 1 cup soaked chana dal 1 tbsp ginger green chili paste ¼ tsp heeng 3-4 whole red chili 1 tsp mustard seeds 8-10 curry leaves Salt Oil Method: Bring to boil 2 cups water. Add 1 tsp salt. 1 tbsp oil. Add the rice flour and mix quickly to bring everything together. Cover and rest for 20 minutes. Grind the two soaked dals with the ginger chili paste and asafetida and salt to taste. Do not add any water. Knead the rested rice dough for 7-8 minutes till it forms a smooth dough. Break lemon sized balls and roll into small puris. Place 2 tbsp dal mix in the centre and fold over the puri. Steam all prepared farre for 15-18 minutes till the dals are cooked. Cool & cut into 1”: pieces/ heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. add the broken red chilies, mustard seeds, curry leaves and the faree. Toss for a minute or two to coat the farre well and serve. Kadhi Preparation Time: 10 minute Cooking Time: 30 minutes Ingredients: 1 litre buttermilk 1 cup + 2tbsp besan ¼ tsp heeng 3-4 whole red chilies 1 tsp mustard seeds 7-8 curry leaves 1 tsp fenugreek seeds Method: Blend 2 tbsp besan with the butter milk. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. add the fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds whole red chilies and the curry leaves. Pour in the buttermilk mix and stir it comes to a boil. Add turmeric powder, salt to taste and simmer for 10-12 minutes. meanwhile add a little water to the 1 cup besan. Add asafetida, ½ tsp salt and beat well. Make a batter of dropping consistency. Drop a tablespoon of batter in medium hot oil and make more to make the pakora for the kadhi. Remove when golden and add to the cooked kadhi. Dahi bada Preparation Time: 20 minute Cooking Time: 20 minutes Ingredients: 2 cups soaked urad dal 1 tbsp ginger green chili paste 2 tbsp kishmish 2 tbsp chironji Sweetened yoghurt as required Salt totaste Green chutney Sweet tamarind chutney Grind the soaked urad dal to make a fine paste. Beat well till the dal is light and frothy. Drop lemon sized balls in medium hot oil.Fry dahi bada till golden in colour. Remove in a bowl of water. Serve with sweetened yoghurt and chutneys. Matar paneer Preparation Time: 30 minute Cooking Time: 20 minutes Ingredients: 250g Paneer 1 cup peas 2 tbsp cashew paste 1 cup tomato paste ½ tsp turmeric powder 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp red chili powder 1 tsp garam masala powder Salt to taste 2 tbsp oil ½ tsp cumin seeds 1 tbsp ginger green chili paste Method: Heat the oil. Add the cumin seeds and as they splutter, add the ginger green chili paste and ¼ cup water. Bring to a boil and add the powdered spices. Cook till the oil floats on top. Add the cashew paste and mix well. Add the tomato paste and cook till oil floats on top. Add 1 ½ cup water, paneer cubes, salt to taste and peas and cook for 7-8 minutes. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve. Seviyan Preparation Time: 10 minute Cooking Time: 20 minutes Ingredients: 1 pack roasted vermicelli 1 liter milk 4 tbsp chopped dry fruits ¾ cup sugar 1 tbsp ghee. Method: Break the vermicelli. Fry in ghee till lightly fragrant. Add the milk and bring to a boil. Simmer till the vermicelli is thickened and well cooked. Add sugar and cook for 3-4 minutes.
