I'm recording in a small room at home though my pedalboard and a small amplifier, with the amp "tone" knob at around 6 out of 12. I've played these at jam sessions through a Sunn head with KT88 tubes and a 4x12 bottom and they sound absolutely huge, but maintain great clarity even at extremely high volumes. These have been tried and tested multiple times at live jams and gigs and I spent a lot of time experimenting before settling on the readouts of these pickups. The setup here is: Played through a Dr. Scientist Reverbator and my vintage 5F2A Tweed Fender Princeton, with an 8" Jensen Special Design speaker and JJ tubes. OCD version 2.0 used for overdrive. Dual mic recording setup with a Sennheiser E906 on the center of the amp speaker, and a 3U audio Teal CM-1 large diaphragm condenser used as a room mic.
