Matteo Bertoli's video: Sony ZV-E1 Cinematic Footage Camera test with Leica R

Well, I finally decided to pull the trigger on the new Sony ZV-E1. I needed an ultra compact camera for travel films and stock footage and this was the best option I could find (yes, it's very expensive). I always thought the A7S III sensor was the best sensor Sony put in their mirrorless cameras, so I went ahead and buy it. This is a very first camera test. I am still getting familiar with this new system and coming from Blackmagic, there are still a couple of things I need to learn. Overall I like what I captured and I think this camera is very capable, especially when combined with good filters and vintage lenses (in this case I used my Leica R 35mm f/2). Dynamic range seems good and I like the skin tones. Is it as good as a BMPCC6K? Absolutely not, but everyone knows this already. Where you can really tell the difference with a Pocket is at night. The ZV-E1 and the FX3 (they have the same sensor) don’t manage mix color lights in the street as well as Blackmagic cameras. Also, one thing I am still figuring out is the second ISO at 12,800. For me it's extremely inconvenient and if you are shooting in a city at night and you want to keep your aperture at f/2 or f/4, you will always have all the street lights clipped and you will probably need to use a ND filter, which is a very weird thing to do at night. I still need to do more testing with lower ISO to see if the footage is usable, so I'll have more videos coming out soon! Everything was shot on Sony ZV-E1 and Leica R 35mm and 50mm f/2 in XAVC S-I 4K, 24p and SLog3. ISO 640 and 12,800 (at night). Edited and graded in DaVinci Resolve 18.
