The Taumarunui Motor Cycle Club, New Zealand, held this Scramble at their Gravel Pit course in October of 1970. The circuit, approximately 100 miles from Hamilton, offered a mix of narrow twisty sections, steep uphill and downhill sections, plus some fast undulating straights. Ross McLaren switches from a CZ to Yamaha borrowed from Royden McChesney midway through the meeting, due to mechanical trouble. Ray Cotterill had travelled for six hours (450km) to reach Taumaranu, from Whangarei...
