JHAL MURI
Jhalmuri is a popular street snack popular in Bengali/Bihar/Odia, made of puffed rice and an assortment of spices, vegetables, chanachur and mustard oil. It is popular in Bangladesh and few other neighbouring states. It may look like a Bhel but preparation, taste and ingredients are somewhat different with distinct flavors of Mustard seeds oil & coconut.
Ingredients :
1 tbs Fennel Seeds (Saunf)
2 Dry Red Chilli (Sukhi Mirch)
1/2 tbs Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
1 tbs Coriander Seeds (Dhaniya)
2 crushed Green Chillies
Boiled Chickpea (Chana)
Freshly cut Coconut Chips
Chopped Tomato, Boiled Potato & Onion
Chopped Green Chillies (as per taste)
Masala Peanuts (Sing)
Farsan
Sev
1 bowl mildly roasted Murmura (puffed Rice)
1 tbs Mustard Oil
1 spoon Oil released from Mango Pickle
1/2 Lemon Juice
Chopped Coriander
Method :
First let's prepare masala
Dry roast 1 tbs Saunf, 2 Sukhi Mirch, 1/2 tbs Jeera & 1 tbs sabut Dhaniya
Churn this into mixie to make fine powder
Further crush 2 Green Chillies to make paste
Dry roast Murmura and transfer in a bowl
Add boiled Chana
Add fresh Coconut Chips
Add chopped Tomato, Boiled Potato & Onion
Add Green Chilli paste
Add finely chopped Green Chillies (as per taste)
Add Masala Peanuts
Add mix Farsan
Add a little Sev
Add 2 tsp Masala prepared (or as per taste)
Add Black Salt
Add 1 tbs Mustard Oil
Add a little Oil released from Mango Pickle
Add 1/2 Lemon Juice
Add chopped Coriander
Mix it well and serve in a paper cone
