Melvin Wei's video: Growing Cherry of the Rio Grande from Cuttings Days 0-92

@Growing Cherry of the Rio Grande from Cuttings, Days 0-92
Eugenia involucrata, the Cherry of the Rio Grande, is an evergreen shrub native to Brazil which bears small fruits that are dark red to purple in color and have a sweet cherry-like flavor. It is said to be a low maintenance plant that grows well in containers. It can be grown it in full sun or partial shade, and is frost tolerant to 20 Fahrenheit or -6 Celsius. It can be watered generously, and when flowering and fruiting, but this species is fairly drought tolerant. Plants are tolerant of a variety of soils, but grow best in partly acidic soil. I bought one for $10 from a nursery that sells a variety of exotic flora, and it came in a small thin pot with potting mix and tiny white mites crawling on the leaves. I treated the potting mix right away with some diluted imidacloprid to give my little cutting systemic resistance against parasites. Towards the very end of the first episode I bought a watering tray to catch the overflow, and started watering more generously because of it.
