MicheLee Puppets's video: BTS How Puppeteers perform Inner and Outer Planets Music Video Placing Asteroid Belt

Filmed a t MicheLee Puppets’ studio in Orlando, Fl, puppeteers Jamie Donmoyer (Orange), Kari Klein (purple) and Scott Huhn (asteroid belt) watch a television monitor while performing. Tbe image on the monitor is backwards from what the performers are doing, so they must have a lot of practice to be successful. They sit on rolling stools for ease of getting around, and to be low enough so that their heads aren’t seen. For music videos, it is more effective to pre-record the sound, and then manipulate the puppets to fit. This also allows different performers to manipulate the puppets, not just the ones who voice the characters. It takes special skills to not only learn to make a puppet come to life, but to learn to lip sync to a music track, and perform on camera.
