Here are some of the questions we asked Dr. Bowman: Can you talk about X-ray crystallography and why the Folding @ home project started? You described the demagorgan spike of COVID-19 and how our simulation work is helping to identify how the "mouth" opens up. Why is that important for therapeutics? Before Coronavirus, what other diseases were being worked on? Once we process work units and send them back, what do you do with them? How does the computer simulation work, in trying to determine the movement patterns of a protein? Recent F @ H stats show that the community is contributing hundreds of thousands of CPUs and GPUs which has the processing power of more than 2.5 exaFLOPs.
