MIGHTY Email: community@mighty.la Website: mighty.la (coming soon) Facebook/Twitter/Instagram: @teammightyla Vision: That people on earth would see glimpses of heaven. ""You just get home and you turn on your television to let it play in the background. At first, the voices are muffled but then a news anchor reads something that catches your attention: ...Get this, a group of radical kids have given up their jobs and have devoted themselves full-time to making videos... about Jesus for the rest of their lives.... They’re not getting paid and fully rely on the christian community. They call themselves... Media. Missionaries."" I remember reading an article of a christian who left Disney to work on other things God has called him to. He mentions a conversation he had with God. God asks him, do you know why christian media is of such poor quality and quantity? It’s because: my people have given their best to the world. And I'm tired of freelancing for Christian organizations. Why? Because churches do not need more flashy intros for their church services, nor do they need more videos to supplement their sermons and worship times. The only thing they need is the Word and Prayer! Media should not just supplement the message. It SHOULD BE the message. The viral video "Why I Hate Religion, but Love Jesus" garnered 12 million views in 3 days. That man preached to more people than a pastor could preach to in his entire life time! And I can assure you that if I hadn't made this video, very few of you would've listened to it. What we need today are more Christ followers who are media enthusiasts to stop giving everything they have to the world just to make money, but to rise up, take a leap of faith and by the grace of God, create videos on motivating Christians and captivating Nonchristians. And we need the wealthy people blessed with God's provision to step up and support their own people. We give money to support missionaries who go to spread God's Word right? Why not give money to Media Missionaries, who will work full-time to advance God's purposes to the 1.4 billion Internet users? Missionaries and Media Missionaries working alongside one another will have an unprecedented impact. By God's grace, I want to be one of the first media missionaries. I want to work full time with a crew on creating powerful videos embedded with God's message. I want to be supported by sponsors who believe that God is redeeming media. I want Hollywood to know that God is going to take her back. That the media missionaries are not dead but we are alive and well and we are a force to be reckoned with. I want to show Christians that christian media is not confined to projector screens on Sunday mornings. And I pray that the next time you search 'christian media' on YouTube, there will be more than just sermon clips and poorly made christian films that slap the cross on anything they want to make 'christian'. God has so much more to say than just John 3:16. A new wave of media prophets is coming and already have come. Father, give us your creative mind, your provision, and your motivation to use the media to glorify you in all the ways that the current media from both the christian and non christian worlds have lacked in.
