In 2014, Palm Hotel & Spa was the first hotel in Reunion island and among French overseas departments to be certified with the European Ecolabel. Since its opening in 2007, the hotel has implemented many actions in favor of the development of sustainable tourism in Reunion island such as: - They use solar energy to heat the water of the spa, pool, laundry room, kitchen and bedrooms. - They use of ecological cleaning products, made on-site with water, salt and an electrolysis process. - Micro-filtered water is served in reusable glass bottles. - They use electric vehicles on-site and for sales appointments. A charging station for electric vehicles is also available for guests. - They use certified organic products at Akea Spa. - Bioclimatic architecture using natural materials. - Aromatic herbs from the garden are used by the chef. - They offer a Gourmet Bag to take away what you could not finish on your plate. - They offer fully compostable cornstarch straws for cocktails. - There is a digital room directory to reduce paper prints. - ... etc ...
