Mike Daas (The Pink Tree)'s video: I design a simple Portal 2 puzzle in 1 hour

@I design a simple Portal 2 puzzle in 1 hour
In this video I design a very simple puzzle in Portal 2. During this process I comment on the decisions I make and outline the steps that generally have to be taken to go from a concept to a finished test chamber. I hope this is a somewhat enjoyable or interesting video. Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below and maybe I'll do a video in more shorter segments once, during which I design a more complex puzzle. Part 1: 00:00 to 10:29 This is the concept phase. Put down the basic lay-out and identifying the requirements on the rest of the environment to enforce your idea. Part 2: 10:29 to 52:56 This is the main building phase. You have thought about the map and you implement your ideas. You test them out by compiling the puzzle and try to verify and break your logic. You adjust the lighting as you go and add details to make the test look better. Sometimes you get stuck and then it will be better to return later. This test was simple enough that I could get it to work in a short amount of time. At the end I had a finished test chamber. Part 3: 52:56 to 1:01:28 This is the inevitable phase during which you realise that your design could still have improved a bit and you implement your changes. Usually after this, the map can be offered to other players for testing, or if you feel confident, be published to the workshop.
