DRIVE starring Mike Vallely: South Part 1 - New Orleans (2007) Season Two | Episode Three Mike Vallely travels throughout the southern United States and visits the city of New Orleans one year after the city was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. Mike meets up with local skateboarder Todd Taylor who takes Mike on a tour of the city. They skate throughout the downtown area, checking out a few of the skateboard spots that have been affected and /or created in the aftermath of the hurricane. Todd also takes Mike on a tour of the more heavily damaged Ninth Ward. The Ninth Ward is ground zero for the flooding that occurred when the levees broke, and Mike is shocked by the destruction once he sees it up close and personal. DRIVE Based on the award-winning documentary film DRIVE (notes from the wilderness), goes on the road with professional skateboarder Mike Vallely as he travels the world exploring the people, places, and issues defining skateboarding and youth culture today.
