Una pareja que está de viaje llega a un apartado pueblo de Nebraska, un lugar donde no hay adultos, sólo niños y adolescentes. El terror se apodera de la pareja cuando descubre la causa de esta extraña situación. Los niños forman una fanática comunidad religiosa que rinde culto a una extraña deidad de los campos de maíz. Cuando llegan a los 18 años, han de ser sacrificados. Segunda adaptación al cine del relato de Stephen King "Los chicos del maíz".
