In 2000, Guy Davis appeared on Late Night With Conan 'O Brien to promote a song from his new album, "Butt Naked Free". He was joined that night by friend and fellow musician Levon Helm. The resulting performance was a foot-tapping piece of folksy blues that was, in my opinion, much better than the studio version. I happened to have my VCR recording the episode, though it's since been lost. I did have the foresight to transfer the audio to a CD, which was pretty new technology at the time. This is probably the only copy of the performance that exists, barring any copy that may be in an NBC archive somewhere. The audio isn't perfect, but the song has been preserved and that's the most important thing. Enjoy the song, and RIP Levon Helm.
