MinK's video: Editing Contest - Force MinK CLOSED

Me and Force have wanted to host an editing contest for a long time, and now it's finally happening! We decided it would be awesome to give you some of the clips you've seen in Horizon and Awakening, and see what you could do with them. We want to see you do something completely new, with your own sense of creativity and style on Force's clips. Prizes "Known" Editor's Bracket (2,500+ subs, may change): 1st -- $100 and a subbox spot for a month 2nd -- $50 3rd -- $25 "Underrated" Editor's Bracket (less than 2,500 subs): 1st -- $100 and a subbox spot for a month 2nd -- $50 3rd -- $25 There will be honorable mentions as well in the results video. Contest Entry Deadline: August 25th You may still upload your entries on this date, but any entries uploaded as soon as the clock hits midnight will be disqualified. Post your entries as a response to this video, those are the only ones that will be judged. Length is not really important. But what is important is that the edit has a sense of completeness, we don't want a video that just cuts off after 30 seconds. Do your best to avoid copy written music, we'll be uploading a results video and we don't want to have to mute your video when it comes up. Things we're looking for: CREATIVITY -- Overall, this is the aspect of editing that still keeps me entertained. We don't want to see the same effects that have been used a million time in the past, we want something fresh and new. Most of the time, when I see a video with overused effects, I usually end up just exiting the video. SONG CHOICE -- I honestly don't care what style of song you use, the only thing that matters is how well you match the editing with the song you choose. Pick a song that allows you to do something different. Often times using "overused" songs or artists leads you to use a style/effects that aren't your own. Syncing the clips to the music is also a MUST. Good syncing really draws the viewers attention into the edit. Flow is also a huge factor into how well your edit comes out. Do your best to avoid dead spots in the edit. COLOR CORRECTION -- Try to make the colors in your video match the feeling of the song you choose. For instance, if you pick a really relaxed song, you don't want colorful flares all over the place. Matching the color correction to the song is much more important than creating an over-the-top cc. With these couple things in mind, we want more than anything to see you guys have fun with this little contest. Even if you don't think you have a good chance of winning, don't be afraid to enter. This is a great opportunity to get your videos some attention as people often view entries by the other contestants. I know I had a ton of fun editing these clips in Horizon and Awakening, and I know you guys will have fun too!
