Minnesota Conference 2019 Campmeeting - 150th Anniversary of Campmeeting in Minnesota Thursday Evening - 4:00pm Dr. David. J. B. Trim is Director of the Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, a position to which he was elected by Annual Council in 2010 and reelected in 2015. Born in Bombay, India, to missionary parents, who served the church in five countries, he grew up in his father’s homeland of Australia, before moving to his mother’s homeland of Great Britain. He is a graduate of Newbold College (B.A. cum laude) and of the University of London (Ph.D.), both in England. He served on the faculty of his alma mater, Newbold, for just over ten years, teaching BA courses in history, literature, and religion, and MA courses in hermeneutics and mission. He then held the Walter C. Utt Chair of History at Pacific Union College for two years; since 2014, he has been an adjunct professor of church history and mission at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University. Dr. Trim's publications include ten academic books along with many book chapters and articles, in both scholarly and church publications. He also regularly presents “This Week in Adventist History” on the Hope Channel. A book about early Adventist missionaries and the sacrifices they made to build up the church has just been published by Pacific Press and is on sale now. He is married to Wendy, a native of California, who is here with him; they have one adult daughter, Genevieve, who lives in Germany.
