“And I remember this family, I remember their kindness..” - Sonya Rostova (Sonya Alone) It’s officially been a year since The Great Comet closed, and there’s so much I could say, but, I won’t bore anyone, all I’ll say is The Great Comet deserved a much longer run, it changed the idea of what a broadway show could be through diverse, color blind and universal casting choices to show that we’re all human kind and our story is the same, and through it’s brilliant, lighting, staging, sets and music. Seeing The Great Comet on broadway was what revived my interest in musical theatre and pray everyday for a revival so that I might have the chance to play my ultimate and number one dream role Hélène. There’s now a Brazilian and Japanese productions of Great Comet for which I’m grateful but let’s remember the brilliant piece of art that was the great comet on broadway.
