Happy September 3rd! The day Broadway stabbed us in the back. It’s officially been two years since The Great Comet closed on Broadway and I’m still heartbroken over it, although it has had a Japanese and multiple Brazilian productions for which I’m grateful. I recall very clearly seeing Amber Gray, a mixed race woman and an alto performing Charming and going “oh, wait.... that’s...me, I could totally do that.” It changed and expanded my perspective on theatre and gave me a new appreciation for the diversity and creativity of humanity.
