Jane Seymour was born in 1508 to John Seymour and Margery Wentworth. She was not from a wealthy family and she was not highly educated but she spent much of her life around nobility. Records say she was a kind peacekeeper who was skilled at needlework. While history remembers her as the “doormat” she actually was very intelligent and was so much more than a tool for Henry to produce an heir. In one recorded incident Jane and Henry got in a spat over the dissolution of the monasteries it ended in Henry threatening Jane’s life but despite being threatened her will did not break and she was a loyal wife to her husband until her death related to childbirth.
