I’m VERY picky when it comes to what skincare I like and recommend, especially since I have acne-prone skin. I had terrible acne as a teen and now as an adult, I’ve had hormonal acne for years and it can be really tricky to deal with. If you have acne scars, acne-prone skin, texture issues, larger pores — you can find lots of drugstore skincare products that can work for you BUT the ONE product that I think is absolutely worth the splurge is a great chemical exfoliator (or two!). *Note: I think all skin types can benefit from regular exfoliation. It helps whatever skincare products you use work better. Chemical exfoliators are actually much more gentle than most scrubs — anything that’s too abrasive can cause micro-tears in the skin, and this is especially bad if you have acne and breakouts. Everyone should be exfoliating their skin at least twice a week, if you wear heavy makeup on a regular basis, maybe 3-4x a week. Obviously, experiment and see what makes your skin happiest. Also, I don’t use ALL of these products at the same time. I don’t think or recommend the average person go out and buy all of these.
