Kansas City, Missouri born, Colorado raised Mason Finley set the high school record in the discus in 2009 with a 236-6 toss. That record lasted two years. Finley went on to success at The University of Kansas and Wyoming in the discus and shot put. Post-collegiately, Finley put it all together in 2016, winning his first of two straight USA discus titles and placed 11th at the Rio Olympics. A year later in London, Finley won the bronze at the 2017 World Championships, becoming the first American to medal in the event at a global championships in decades.
